WIDMER+CO is a Johannesburg born design and manufacturing company established by the Widmer brothers in 2015. Drawing from the milieu of the arts and built on top of a three decade long family legacy of contemporary design and specialised manufacturing, has culminated in the brothers, creating high-end range of furniture and stylised accessories.
With particular attention to genuine quality, locality and sustainability: W+’s handcrafted production process uses a wide range of locally sourced materials that are transformed into durable life enriching pieces. Each finished object serves as a once off collectable, having its own subtle character and meticulously designed to withstand a lifetime of use.
As an extension to functionality, WIDMER+CO’s design philosophy is further underpinned by the art of living well with the purpose of aesthetically elevating and improving an inhabited space. Their motivating principle is based on living up to the ideal of making at least one area in your environment as beautiful as possible.
W+’s manufacturing is foundational on the practice of conscientiously sourcing their solid woods, committed to working with low impact materials that are used in small-scale production, for better sustainability.
